Reflecting God’s Image (Gen. 1:27): Understand and demonstrate a relationship of love, surrender and humility with Jesus:
- Learns to hear God’s voice
- Spends time with Jesus every day talking to Jesus and reading the scriptures
- Acknowledges that he is willing to do whatever God asks of him. That God is His King and He bears God’s image.
Dominion over the earth (Gen. 1:28 and 2:16): Dominating sin or addiction through the grace of Jesus and exercising servant leadership wherever he leads:
- Free from addiction to Porn, Video Games, Sports, Food, Alcohol…etc.
- Demonstrates self control and being fulfilled in Jesus while leading with meekness
Tend the Garden, Part I (Gen. 2:15): Has a job or responsibility (School, Sports…etc) and cultivates it by doing everything as unto the Lord while taking care of the earth:
- Works hard with diligence, conscientiousness and respect at current job
- Is not wasteful with possessions and nature, but stewards them well
Tend the Garden, Part II (Gen. 2:15): Loves his neighbor and knows how to lead someone to Jesus and cultivate (disciple) them:
- Leads others in relationship with God. Understands the gospel and how to introduce someone to Jesus
- Demonstrates ability to share testimony and the gospel
- Demonstrate how they would disciple a young believer they led to Jesus:
- Water Baptism
- Baptism of the Holy Spirit
- Essentials of Relationship with Jesus
Keep the Garden - Able to Protect/Guard the innocent (Gen. 2:15): Able to use a knife and gun well and fight hand to hand to protect the innocent and vulnerable - willing to sacrifice his life for his faith, mom, sisters and future wife:
- Can shoot a rifle accurately under pressure
- Can shoot a pistol accurately under pressure
- Can submit an attacker while taking blows
Understands God given individual identity and giftings and the vocation God has called them to (Gen. 2:19):
- Prays and receives “first name Identity” from God confirmed by earthly dad and others who know the son.
- Creates tentative plan to pursue individual identity and giftings after spending whole day with Jesus
Prepares for Marriage and understands God's design for sex and exercises self control for His future wife (Gen. 2:26-27):
- Demonstrates 1-6 in preparation for marriage.
- Practices chivalry
- Respecting women for who they are not for their beauty (objectifying)
- Sex Explained more fully: What it is. What it isn’t, God's design in marriage.
- Commits to saving sex for his wife
- Can provide for a family before marriage.
1. Ceremony with Dad where the son completes a more difficult task or assignment (their dad and the other men come up with it pertaining to challenging them in their identity and gifting)
2. Once they complete the hard task they are then ready to be declared a man of God by their dad and the other men in the group.
3. Their dad then blesses them with the laying on of hands (with the other men) and a Father’s Blessing. He then knights them as a man of God with a sword that they keep and can hang up in their room.
